No one before or after the star architect Luis Barragán has had a better grasp of how to use the elements of Mexican construction, the artistic interplay of concrete and nature, glass, wood and color, openness and intimacy. Today his architectural marvels are presented as museums to the general public. Only one building right in the middle of Mexico City is a private residence. César Cervantes, a former art collector, sold all his treasures and purchased one of the first Barragán villas to be his home. The mid-40s art lover lives there alone on countless square meters. And regularly invites people to fabulous parties. A prettier location is hard to imagine.
